The 4th Annual WLUW Record Fair & Other Delights!

This Saturday, April 08, come see Rev. Flavor and Dr. Drase as they spin some different fare than the usual Hump Day Dance Party regulars. They'll man the decks from 1-3pm at the 4th Annual WLUW Record Fair & Other Delights!

Over the past three years, the WLUW Record Fair &
Other Delights has become a crucial destination for
music lovers, vinyl collectors, hipsters and
tastemakers alike.  This year, the fair – a sure sign
of spring in Chicago – returns to the Pulaski Park
Fieldhouse, 1419 West Blackhawk in Wicker Park, on
Saturday and Sunday, April 8-9, 2006.  Once again, the
fair will feature three rooms packed with vendors from
across the Midwest offering a wide variety of
music-related items, including LPs, CDs, 45s, DVDs,
posters, ‘zines and crafts.

And what about the “Other Delights”?  There’s plenty
of fun to be had in addition to shopping.  Devin
Davis, Hanalei, and the Black Bear Combo will perform
live, and there will be DJ sets from the Life During
Wartime DJs, the staff of Pitchfork Media, and top
WLUW personalities. This year also marks the
introduction of the WLUW Rec Room, where shoppers will
be able to take a break from searching the bins to
relax with music-related movies and documentaries.
Food will be provided from Alliance Bakery and Uptown
Cafe all day long both days for shoppers needing
nourishment before continuing their browsing.

The event, a benefit for Chicago’s favorite community
radio station, 88.7 WLUW, begins at 10:00 AM both
days, ending at 6:00 PM on Saturday and 5:00 PM on
Sunday.  A “pre-admission” special will be offered
Saturday morning from 8-10 AM.

Admission to the WLUW Record Fair & Other Delights is
$7 each day ($5 with any ad or flyer). A special $20
pre-admission price gets eager shoppers into the fair
from 8-10 AM Saturday, before the official opening.
Those paying the pre-admission price will be able to
return to the fair all weekend without additional
charge.
