upcoming events with the Hump Day Dance Party crew

Rev. Michael Flavor is having a birthday party Thursday, August 12, at the Empty Bottle and would appreciate it greatly if you were to attend.  In addition to Michael Flavor, who will be DJing throughout the night, the other performing guests of honor include The Mae Shi, Casiotone for the Painfully Alone, and Rapider Than Horsepower.

Here's what the Empty Bottle's website has to say about the show:

Spastic, art-damaged combo MAE SHI will be appearing as a part of their first ever tour, playing in support of their first ever longplayer, Terrorbird, issued by the Kill Rock Stars imprint. Synth pop soloist CASIOTONE FOR THE PAINFULLY ALONE will play second, in anticipation of his forthcoming Tomlab release Twinkle Echo, purportedly his best effort yet. Quirky rock combo RAPIDER THAN HORSEPOWER will open, and REVEREND MICHAEL FLAVOR will deejay throughout. At MAE SHI’s insistence, every tour stop will be a party celebrating something particular, and in this case the evening will serve as a birthday party for REVEREND FLAVOR. Party hats optional.

To that, I'll just add that if you feel the need to buy birthday presents, buy them from the merch table.

The Hump Day Dance Party, hosted by Michael Flavor and Dr. Drase, can be heard Wednesdays from 6:30-10:00pm on 88.7FM WLUW, or online at WLUW.org.
